2024 China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market (COTTM) Launching “Outbound Tourism Investment and Development Forum”
At the Third Edition of Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in October 2023, China put forward eight actions for cooperation, which clearly stated: to negotiate and sign free trade agreements and investment protection agreements with more countries; to deepen the opening-up of cross-border service trade and investment. China has become a force for certainty and stability in the recovery of the world economy and the development of international trade and investment, creating more opportunities for the world through its own development. This also means that there will be more opportunities for Chinese enterprises to invest overseas in the future.
COTTM will further implement the China national strategy of jointly building the “One Belt, One Road”, by organising the “COTTM Outbound Tourism Investment and Development Forum” in the afternoon of 17th October.

The COTTM forum will provide a business platform for global tourism project owners/stakeholders to showcase their projects in China to connect with Chinese investors, to help upgrade their infrastructure, facilities and operational systems. It will be an opportunity to meet with Chinese government officials, project investors, hotels, brand management organisations, accommodation and tourism facilities providers who are interested in overseas investment. Consequently, it will facilitate for destinations to receive more flow of Chinese outbound travellers and tourists, and will further improve their tourism products quality and competitiveness in the world.
The Forum will also discuss prospects, opportunities and challenges of overseas investment by Chinese enterprises, and explore Chinese enterprises’ considerations and expectations when choosing overseas destinations for investment and operating tourism business.Currently, many overseas tourism boards, embassies and consulates, and private sectors from such as Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Maldives, Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, and Papua New Guinea etc have expressed their interest in participating in the “COTTM Outbound Tourism Investment and Development Forum”.
